DRIVING DIRECTIONS: From Santa
Fe to the Nivas (guest house) area where you will find the Gold House. Drive north from Santa Fe on Rte. 84/285 about ½ hour.
At the south side of Espanola—seemingly in the middle of nowhere,
you will come to a stoplight. The DreamCatcher movie theater is on the far right side. Make
a right there onto Rt. 106, Yogi Bhajan Hwy.
Pass
the Sombrillo Rd. intersection and Yogi Bhajan’s Ranch on the left side.
The next right turn is Shady Lane. Turn right here.
Then after the house on the corner you will see a property on the left with a chain link fence around it.
The gate is sort of across from 5 Shady Lane and the small drive called Prosperity Path that you will see on the right.
Turn left into the gate to that property. This is the Nivas area where the original Ladies’
Camp used to be. You will see a few grey trailers and a stucco house that is painted bright yellow.
That house is the Gold House, which is the most used Nivas.
WALKING TO THE GURDWARA FOR SADHANA from the Gold House.
If you want to walk up to the Gurdwara (temple) for early morning sadhana that runs
from 4 to 6:30 AM, walk out of that Ladies’ Camp gate, cross Shady Lane, and walk up the dirt drive that is straight
across the street. (This dirt drive is just up the road from Prosperity Path.) On this
drive/path, you will pass a house on your left and a number of trailers (3HO offices). Then continue on
the path for a good ways until you reach the golden domed Gurdwara. The walk takes about 15 minutes.
Leave your shoes on the shoe rack
outside, then open the door to the Gurdwara. The combination to the lock on the Gurdwara door is 5-4-3.
That is you press each of 3 buttons in sequence, starting with the bottom button and moving up for the next two buttons,
then turn the door handle. Be sure to take your sheep skin, blanket, etc. for prayers, yoga, and
wonderful sung meditations. Then you will need a head covering for the last half hour kirtan (hymn singing,
prayer and reading of the hokum or message for the day.) The exquisite mural in the back of the Gurdwara
is not to be missed!
DRIVING
TO THE GURDWARA from the Gold House.
Coming
out of the Ladies Camp property, turn left on Shady Lane. This curves around. When you
meet a “T” intersection with Sombrillo Rd., make a right. Then shortly, turn right into the
parking lot. To get into the locked Gurdwara, follow the directions just above.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS: From Santa Fe to the golden domed Gurdwara.
Drive north from Santa Fe on Rte. 84/285 about ½
hour.
At the south side
of Espanola—seemingly in the middle of nowhere, you will come to a stoplight. The DreamCatcher movie
theater is on the far right side. Make a right there onto Rt. 106, Yogi Bhajan Hwy.
On the right, you will pass the drive to the elementary school.
Then turn right onto E. Sombrillo Rd. In a few hundred yards, on the left you will see the golden
dome atop a large white building. This is the Gurdwara and the entrance is on the courtyard, which is on
the other side. Just before the Gurdwara , but next it, you will see a wooden gazebo near the flagpoles.
This is where that wonderfully vibrant statue of Baba Siri Chand lives. Pay him a visit.
You may find him talking to you!
DRIVING DIRECTIONS FROM THE DREAMCATCHER
movie theater to Anthony’s on the Delta and the Inn on the Delta. About 15 minutes.
·
If you are coming from Santa Fe, stay on Rt. 84/285, or
· If you are coming from the Gurdwara or the Nivas areas, you will be coming up Rt. 106, Yogi Bhajan Highway
to the main highway. By the DreamCatcher Theater, at the light turn right onto the highway Rt. 84/285.
Continue north on Rt. 84/285 for about a mile.
At the second stop light (not counting
the one at the DreamCatcher), you will see Dandyburger on your left, and a big lit-up sign board for the town of Espanola
events to the far left. Turn left here to continue to follow Rt. 84/285 towards Chama and Abiquiu.
(If you go straight, the highway changes to Rt. 64 and goes through the main part of Espanola, heading to Taos.
Do not do this.)
You will cross the
Rio Grande, and see La Cocina Restaurant on your right.
At the stoplight (with the Los Alamos Hwy.), make a right. Within a block you will be making
a left, so get in the middle lane.
At the
next stoplight, make a left onto Paseo de Onante, and stay in the right lane. You will pass Gil’s
Auto Repair and a couple of other buildings on your right. Immediately, you will see a neon sign on a building
that says “Delta Bar.” Just after that, turn right into that compound
area parking where the sign says “Anthony’s on the Delta.” (If you continue driving towards
the back of that property, you will see the “Inn at the Delta” on the left and back. Their
entrance is at the far end.)
To get to our
course, next to bar—in the same building you will see an entrance to the flower shop. Go in the flower
shop door and turn left to go through the patio, and then on the far side of the patio, go back into the building.
Turn left and walk straight to the far back of the building where you will see registration set up. Our
“Mela” room is up the stairs that lead to the balcony.
Anthony’s on the Delta, 233 N. Paseo de Onante, Espanola, NM 87532. 505-753-3102.
