Mool Mantra

The Mool Mantra or Mul Mantra is the first part of the sacred scriptures known as "The Siri Guru Granth Sahib."   The very first section is known as Japji Sahib, and was written by Guru Nanak in the 1500s in northwest India after he spent three days of Divine Union under the water of a river.  The very first stanza or "pauri" is known as the Mool (Mul) Mantra, meaning the Root Mantra because from this understanding flows all Divine Knowledge.   The words on the right are Ek Ong Kaar Kaur's wondefully accessible translation from her book, "Japji Sahib, Song of the Soul".  You can order it from her at ekongkaarsd@gmail.com . From the start This Truth was True.   All through Time and Space Is True.   Even now, This Truth is True.   Nanak says, Ever shall be True.
